Galia
PARFUM - 50ML
Galia is a powerful projecting, oriental-style fragrance. Opening with a radiant Tobacco and gourmand profile that commands attention, it swiftly draws attention and complements its base, a classical ‘Ghaliyah’ trio elegantly composed of pure Cambodian Oud, Ambergris and Musk.
This is a statement piece. The zenith of where Eastern and Western perfumery meet. Powerful in its name, with matching sillage and projection — a scent fit for royalty.
BACKGROUND
The most famous of fragrance blends in early Islamic history was Ghaliyah.
Crafted for kings among the Umayyads and Abassids, these were crafted with the finest raw materials known stretching across the frontier of the empires, and across the borders of neighbours — precious cargo such as musk, ambergris and oud. The Abbasid court physician Ibn Masawayh regarded musk, ambergris, oud, camphor and saffron as the five principal aromatics.
There is no fixed template for Ghaliyah fragrances and it is subject to much dispute and discussion, as scent historians trawl through ancient perfumery texts, emerging with varying recipes. In Galia, KYMYA interprets Ghaliyah in our own way, taking the best of modern ingredients to combine the heritage of Eastern perfumery with a contemporary Western touch.

the penultimate oud region
cambodia
Cambodi is the most prized region of oud, renowned for its sweet and fruit laden aroma, it exploded in popularity over the last few decades - today it is seldom found.
Much of the "Cambodi" oud sold today, comes from neighbouring regions, mimicking the Cambodian profile.
Sourcing authentic cambodian oud is virtually impossible, at KYMYA our vast connections across the oud world, give us unprecedented access to the finest of oud.
Cleanly distilled and sustainable at source, our Cambodian oud is tested utilising modern laboratory techniques to ensure every batch is 100% authentic cambodian oud oil.
Distilled the traditional way, by local distillers, and grown by local farmers, we play our part in helping to sustain the next generation by donating a percentage of every sale to sustainable agarwood plantations.
