THE SULTANI ARCHIVES
The Discovery Collection
A curated journey through the private reserves of aristocracy. This collection grants access to five distinct expressions of the Sultani legacy—oils of historical significance that defined an era of oud and perfumery now lost to time.
Presented in 1g laboratory-grade Wheaton V-Vials to ensure the preservation of these rare profiles for generations to come.
0.25g and 0.5g options also available. 3g on request.
SULTANI 1982 The cornerstone. Despite the modern wonders of distillation practiced and taught throughout the world, nothing can eclipse the wood sourced for a Sultan in the 1980s, a time when dense sinking agarwood was nothing but abundant in the quantities needed for the oils of the Royal court. The most note worthy of them all, Sultani 1982 - known by many different names now - was one of the earliest oils to reach the artisanal community in the 2000s, quickly establishing itself as one of the greatest oud oils in existence.
PURPLE KYARA SULTANI The ethereal expression. Defined by its distinct "purple" opening, this oil opens with a mesmerising burst of sweet florals and fruit, evolving into a delicate heart of honey and tea-like nuances. True to its Kelantan origin, the base of this oil is liquor like, sweet and espousing of the richness of Malay oud.
KINAM X - SULTANI (SQ) The hidden crown jewel. Often whispered about in private circles but rarely experienced, this oil is regarded by connoisseurs as the zenith and rarest of the SQ collection. Distilled from the jungles of Irian Jaya but possessing a kinamic verticality that defies its origin, it is an oil of distinct mystery and reverence.
SULTANI (SQ) MYITKINA A study in truth. While some oud narrators often paint Myitkina in hues of purple, the reality of the high-grade material of Burmi is between red and orange in the flavour spectrum. For such a vintage oil, crafted in a time long before artisanal distillation, the profile is remarkably clean - refined heavily by age - featuring bright notes of orange peel and bitter metallics, before settling into a clean, smokey incense dry down.
SULTANI (SQ) LAOS The shapeshifter. A complex oil that challenges even the most experienced of noses, while Laotian by origin, its character is fluid, reminding the wearer of Cambodian and Vietnamese oils. It offers a pristine profile with subtle vanillic and milky notes alongside the familiar fruits of the Crassna species, it finally drifts through some bitterness into a heavy, resinous dry down.
