Undoubtedly the greatest wood we have seen in recent years was thanks to the original curation by Diwan of Sultan Qaboos in the latter half of the 20th century.
Since 2020, we have seen countless kilograms of the most resin dense agarwood, the sort that collectors dream of at night and spend countless years chasing. In a very short time the most wealthiest and able of collectors have swooped up the majority of this, and only a little trickles through from time to time.
Among the most famous of these wood hauls was the Iriani wood, beautiful dark pieces filled with oil and resin, emitting the most wonderful aroma at room temperature and a glorious and thick smoke when heated that clanged to one's clothes for days.

The Diwan focused on curating the greatest oud and rarest aromatic materials from around the world for the Sultan and those close to him.
Over the reign of Sultan Qaboos, numerous individuals were given the honour of being gifted some of those most immaculate and pristine batches of oud wood and oil.
Without knowing it at the time, they were being gifted the Picasso's of the oud world, for today these collections represent the finest of oud known to man.
