Gifts from the palace
The pinnacle of agarwood in recent years has no doubt been the treasures uncovered in Oman, with so many original gifts from the palace finally coming to light, courtesy of long time collectors, many of whom had no idea of the value of what they held.
In the last couple of years, as stocks dwindled and prices skyrocketed, most of those holding such gifts have decided to hold on to their precious woods and oils, parting ways only in significant times of need, and that too for market value, several times what they asked in 2020.

Shrouded in mystery
As is consistent with vintage batches, the exact origin is often shrouded in mystery. With the HJ and Amouage pieces collectors can contact head offices, yet with agarwood this isn't possible.
It takes experienced noses together to form an opinion on the provenance of each piece. We've determined this batch to be a mix of Hindi, with Burmi, Malaysian and Cambodi pieces in the mix.
