With the heaviest pieces today trading well over $110,000/kg, for most folk Filipino oud is something that'll never be experienced again the way it was in the past.
The Scent:
Opening with a distinctive sweetness, not cloying, but deep. There are notes of caramel, dark honey, and a subtle fruitiness that distinguishes this from all other Filipino regions. As it burns, the profile shifts: resinous, incense-like, with continuous dark bubbles popping unlike any other wood at this price point. The aroma lingers in fabric and memory.
