Undeniably Nha Trang is one of the greatest regions of oud, a region that has every collector enthused and fixated on collecting its gems. Our focus is no different, we collect and purvey only the finest of oils: focusing on scent, rarity and value. 

For some truly great oils, cost takes a back seat in the decision making. With this oil we're faced with one of the greatest oils we've tried, part of what makes it so great is its kinamic aroma and powerful projection. Despite being a costly and difficult acquisition for us, we're simply grateful to have been blessed with such a gem, after all great oud is not easy to come by - even if one has the funds. 

We've touched a little on the rarity and acquisition of high end oud here, it isn't too dissimilar to acquiring rare luxury goods such as Swiss watches with lengthy waitlists and money alone not being enough. Purchases typically also require a special relationship built over years demonstrating commitment and passion for the art and craftsmanship - oud is many levels more complex.

So how does this oil open? Imagine the initial notes of kinam, a slight bitter and medicinal opening with woody undertones. This is a complex multi-dimensional oil, unlike so many other Nha Trang oils. As the scent develops the notes of dark fruits emerge paired with notes of tamarind & spices, a Chinese Sinensis like profile envelopes the oil bringing the ever familiar profile of resinous high grade Vietnamese oud - sweetness, cream and a deep oud aroma.

This is undoubtedly one of the greatest oils to emerge from Nha Trang, a pedigree Vietnamese oud distilled by the legendary distillers of Taiwan. Oils like this today are incredibly rare and the envy of so many old and new collectors on the block. This oil might be for everyday use; special occasions or simply as a reference for the future so that we can remember legendary oils of the past like this beauty.
