In a relatively unknown corner of the oud world, some folk in the oud equivalent of skunk works have been working away in secrecy over the years, from their lab they've been meticulously crafting and refining the art of distillation. 

Now there's distillation occurring all over the world, from the traditional set ups in India and Bangladesh, over to the Taiwanese set ups and now all throughout the world at any producing region, even now into Europe and USA.

These artisans have taken things to a different level altogether, and this isn't something new or recent, this isn't a modern wonder like the cultivated kinam fantasies running through the market - this is a form art that has been practiced for decades.

Many of the oils in this collection to come are decades old, crafted not for wearing as perfume, but rather for consumption - hence the medicinal grade.

Now Assam oud is rather hard to forget, it's everywhere in the market, the barn and funk is almost impossible to escape in certain places. Its made its way into Western niche perfumes, completely dominating the story of what oud is.

Today, at last there are artisanal Hindi oils finally bringing out the purity of the Assam profile, these clean distillations, however, are still a work in progress as the local distillers catch up to the artisanal style.

Yet in our friend's lab in the 1990s, they were distilling some of the greatest profiles one could ever experience in oud oil, bringing the Kinamic profile even to Indian agarwood - when have you heard of such a feat before. 

Assam Kyara is to me the greatest oil I've smelled in a long time, and I'm 100% dedicated to only featuring ultra high grade oud oils under KYMYA, it truly is the greatest experience one could ever wish for when it comes to Indian oud.

A lush opening of fruits, quickly develops into a Manuka honey like sweetness, combined with a creamy vanilla profile, the base has a mind-numbing kinam core infused with liquor like touch.

Whether for daily wear or reference, it truly is a must try experience for all collectors out there, the longevity is also among the greatest of any oud I've experienced with wonderful projection too.
