Taifi Rose Oil (Al Hada 2024)
Roses could be said to be as old as civilisation itself, a symbol of romance and a corner stone of perfumery in all cultures - rose is one of the most recognisable scents globally.
The roses which we see, touch and smell in our everyday lives, come from all across the world, and with that, several regions have come to fame particularly for their use in perfumery.
Yet in this world of niche perfumery, there is one region more coveted than them all, a region that is ever so elusive & rare - Taif.
Taif is a unique & mountainous city near to Mecca, famous for its rose production, with the finest of of its annual rose oil every year being used to cleanse the Holy Kaaba in Mecca - visited by millions of pilgrims every year.
Some say its iconic Damask Rose was brought to the unique & cool mountainous region by the Ottomans during their rule, with Taif's geography, climate and history so unique - its only fitting that it produces one of the most desirable & rarest of naturals used in niche & Eastern perfumery.
Producing in excess of 550 million roses a year, across 900 farms, it's important to remember that it takes a staggering 40,000 roses to produce just 10 grams of rose oil.
Taifi is uniquely rare among the roses used in perfumery & in demand by so many, from the most well known Western & Eastern perfume houses, right to Royalty across the Middle East & from the ultra-wealthy Gulf collectors right down to the everyday niche perfumery & artisanal oud enthusiasts.
Our batch of Taifi hails from the most prestigious farm in Al Hada, immaculately distilled in 2024, it is undoubtedly the greatest rose oil we've ever owned or had the pleasure of smelling.
Radiating a soft silky & sweet rose aroma that is a complete perfume in itself, this is the perfect rose oil for any niche perfumery enthusiast. Whether it be for wearing as a pure perfume like the Arabs of the Gulf or even for layering with your favourite niche sprays or artisanal oud oils - you'll find this Taifi filling you with joy & radiance.
